My name is Philip Tavers. I’m an investigator, though I don’t like to refer to myself as such. The title comes with a feeling of paranoia, or at least, I’ve seen too much of that while investigating.
To be completely honest, I’m still relatively new at this investigation thing. I’m following in the footsteps of my grandfather. He was a private investigator for years, more than I’ve been alive. He taught me everything I know and is the person I probably admire the most. Here’s hoping that I’ve put everything I’ve learned from him to good use.
Several months ago, I received a call regarding a young man who is currently in a coma. He was attacked during his girlfriend’s birthday party, of all places. As it turns out, there were a few characters at the party that could be responsible. Oddly enough, the call about the case didn’t come from the victim’s girlfriend, or even his best friend who was also at the party. It actually didn’t come from anyone that attended the party. It came from one of the parents. More specifically, parents of the girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.
Now, that certainly raised my level of interest. Now, don’t get me wrong: I’m not in the business of turning people away, so it was likely that I was going to take the case anyway. But the point of entry for this case instantly raised a number of flags. A mystery was on my knocking on my door and I knew I had to answer.
I’ve decided to record my investigations, knowing that this case would be a bit different. Hopefully I’ll get to the bottom of this, and I invite everyone to listen in as we discover more about this birthday party gone wrong.
